Flying in a Balloon
words & music by Jenny Heitler-Klevans, © 2001

Jenny’s Uncle and Aunt took us for a balloon ride one crisp fall day.  Ari and Jason rode in the chase car.  Instead of writing in their guest book, Jenny wrote this song as a thank you.

(Chorus:)
Flying in a balloon
Floating above the trees
We’re flying in a balloon
Carried along by the breeze.

We began the adventure on a clear afternoon
We all helped out setting up the balloon
When all was ready we climbed inside
And started our journey up to the sky

(Chorus)

Over miniature houses all in a row
We floated above, and then dipped down low
With a pull on the gas we rose up so high
Dogs started barking while kids watched us fly

(Bridge:)
A balloon ride is a magical trip
The world is so big, yet so small
Hanging peacefully in the air
Seeing the beauty in all

(Chorus)

We searched below for a good landing place
An open field that would have enough space
Lower and lower we started on down
We bumped and we skidded to a halt on the ground

The chase car met us in a thick field of hay
Families gathered to watch and to play
Kids ran over to help us pack
as the sun disappeared behind our backs

(Chorus - repeat the last line)
