David is offering online music classes for grown-ups, including:
Title: Bob Dylan: Musical Changeling
Description: Bob Dylan is one of the most fascinating, influential and era-defining (in multiple eras!) artists, and one who has repeatedly re-invented himself. If you saw the recent movie A Complete Unknown, you may have found yourself wanting to know more about Dylan and his work, including what aspects of the film were accurate (or not). In this 3-part class, we will explore his life, his music, his impact, and his radically varied creative output.

Description: An exploration of the period known as the Baroque era of Western European concert music, including a sampling of works by J.S. Bach, Handel, Monteverdi, Purcell, Vivaldi and others, as well as non-European music from the period. We will look at the important forms and musical elements of the era, as well as the historical and cultural context.

Title: Great Albums of 1970-71
Description: An in-depth exploration of some great albums of late 1970 & early 1971, including work by The Doors, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Funkadelic, Marvin Gaye, George Harrison, Jackson 5, Jethro Tull, Janis Joplin, Carole King, The Kinks, John Lennon, The Maytals, Joni Mitchell, Dolly Parton, The Rolling Stones, Gil Scott-Heron, Cat Stevens, Rod Stewart, The Temptations, Velvet Underground, Bill Withers, and Charles Wright & the Watts 103rd St Rhythm Band. We will generally examine 2 albums + 1 song per class, with a thorough look at lyrics, music, structure, arrangement, and production, as well as cover art, biography, context and impact.
