Two of a Kind presents workshops at teacher conferences, meetings or at individual schools. Two of a Kind has presented keynote addresses, workshops and performances at national and regional AEYC conferences, as well as Children’s Music Network, Kencrest Services, Montgomery County Community College and Philadelphia Federation of Teachers conferences.
Diversity Awareness and Conflict Resolution Through Music
Through songs, games and activities, participants learn ways to use music to help their students celebrate diversity and resolve conflicts peacefully.
Sing Through Your Day: Integrating Music Across the Curriculum
Practical ideas for integrating music to promote enrichment and build community in the classroom. Two of a Kind will provide specific examples of classroom activities, songs, chants and other resources.
Teachable Moments Through Music: The Transformative Power of Song
Songs can be powerful tools for encouraging positive interpersonal interaction, sparking valuable discussion, and providing a wealth of other “teachable moments” in the classroom. Participants will come away with songs, activities and resources for using music to transform individuals and groups.
Sing a Song of Science
Songs and activities for teaching scientific concepts and information to children in Pre-School and Elementary grades, with an emphasis on materials related to animals and the environment. Participants gain resources for using music to teach scientific information.
Songwriting with Children
Participants will experience Two of a Kind’s cooperative group songwriting process first-hand. This workshop will provide the tools and motivation for teachers to begin doing songwriting with their own students.
