Heart To Heart

Lyrics: This song was inspired by teacher Carolyn Messina-Yauchzy's creative method of conflict resolution using a "heart-to-heart box" with young children. David tried her method in his elementary school music classes and it really works!
(Chorus:)
Heart to heart, we can talk
Heart to heart, we can make it all better
Heart to heart, we can talk
Heart to heart, we can make it all right
"Teacher!", yelled Mark, "Johnny took my toy!
I had it first, he’s a very mean boy.
I had it first, and it’s not at all fair.
If he doesn’t give it back, I’m gonna pull his hair!"
(Chorus)
Teacher says, "Wait, we can work this out.
Hold the heart to heart box, please talk and don’t shout.
Stand face to face with the box between you.
Follow what it says, and you’ll work it out soon."
(Chorus)
Teacher asks Mark what he wished would happen
(Mark:) "Don’t take my toy, if I’m playing or nappin’"
Johnny wants Mark to share when he plays
(John:) "I like to play with Mark on any school day"
(Chorus)
Teacher asks Mark what he likes about John
(Mark:) "He’s fun on the slide, and he likes to run around"
John says now what he likes about Mark:
"He draws real nice and runs fast in the park."
(Chorus - 3x)
