Lyrics:
Bob Blue was a wonderful songwriter, educator and human being, who died last year after a long struggle with MS. Jackson Gillman is a "stand-up chamleon" who performs many of Bob’s songs, and collaborated on this one. Our version of this beautiful song will also appear on a Bob Blue tribute CD entitled "True Blue".
We start out small. We start out slow.
At first there isn’t much we know.
But in that start, is all we need.
The future dwells within the seed.
We leave the seeds within the ground.
They can’t be seen, they make no sound.
We hope they live, we hope they grow
through summer drought and winter snow.
We do our best to start them right.
We clear the soil to give them light.
We hope for rain. We hope for sun.
We hope the lives that we’ve begun
will find a way to carry on,
and prosper still, when we are gone.
We start out small. We start out slow.
At first there isn’t much we know.
But in that start, is all we need.
The future dwells within the seed.
But in that start, is all we need.
The future dwells within the seed.
